While trying to modify security settings for the application, I discovered certain settings were completely missing. In other words, there was no ability to modify certain settings. Turned out to be a simple fix, at least for my issue. On the server, locate X:\Program Files (x86)\Timberline Office\Shared folder. In this folder, run Sage.Application.ConfigurationHub.exe (as administrator). It completed after a few minutes, and the settings that were missing under security administration were restored!
I'm running version 17.1, but I assume these settings are pretty consistent across versions.
