Generate CSR and Retrieve the SSL

To order an SSL certificate select the SSL Certificate you wish under Website & Security -> SSL Certificates.

After you have ordered your SSL Certificate you need to generate a CSR for the certificate. If you have a Linux VPS you can use this command to generate an SSL certificate from the command line: openssl req -new -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -keyout domain.key -out domain.csr

If you have a Cpanel server under Security -> SSL/TLS you will see Certificate Signing Requests (CSR). You can then follow the wizard to generate a CSR for your SSL certificate.

For the Domains, you need to enter the full domain name. So for instance, if you are trying to setup a website for secure.rocketinternet.net then the domain would be secure.rocketinternet.net.

If you are doing a domain such as rocketinternet.net then the domain name is rocketinternet.net.

Make sure to fill in the necessary location information accurately as any incorrect information could cause the certificate to fail (especially at the higher more expensive level certificates).

The passphrase is not required.

After pressing generate and receiving the CSR you can then go back to the client area. Under Services -> My Services -> (select your SSL certificate service) -> configure.

Here you will fill in more personal information as well as the CSR we generate previously. Once finished you can move to the next step and select which email you would like to use for domain verification. That email must be a valid email as you will be required to validate your email address.

Once you have validated your email address the certificate will be processed and then become available in the SSL service page. On the left-hand side, there will be a button under the Actions column that says Retrieve Certificate. That is where you can retrieve your SSL Certificate.
